PINC Open House

Open House : PINC Graduate Analyst Drew Tillotson, PsyD will be in conversation with Karin Vandervoort, PsyD about the impact of socio-political realities as they enter the consulting room. Maureen Murphy, PhD will moderate.

Thursday Nov 6, 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM

Please join PINC faculty, administrators, graduates, and candidates, in person or on Zoom, to hear how we are thinking about psychoanalysis in the context of our Psychoanalytic Training Program.

Today, clinical work is increasingly shaped by socio-political events and decisions that press into the analytic space, from fears of racial profiling, censorship, and threats to voting and LGBTQ rights, to concerns about public health and climate change. Analysts are challenged to navigate the profound anxieties stirred in both our patients’ internal worlds and our own. This conversation will highlight how we are striving to interrogate these challenges while maintaining and protecting the safety of the analytic space. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about training and the admissions process. We anticipate an informative and lively discussion. Feel free to invite other friends or colleagues who you think would be interested.
